Greater Hazleton Concert Series 2015-16 season continues Nov. 13 with So Good for the Soul

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A preliminary hearing for a man allegedly involved in a March shooting at the Sherman Hills apartment complex was continued.</p><p>Diondre &#8220;Porky&#8221; Bess, 28, formerly of Athens, Georgia, appeared before Magisterial District Judge Martin Kane on Thursday for a preliminary hearing.</p><p>John Donovan, an attorney for the Luzerne County Public Defender&#8217;s office, said the continuance was necessary because there may be a conflict of interest. Donovan said that witnesses and others associated with the case may be represented by his office on unrelated matters.</p><p>Donovan also said that a court reporter was not present at the proceedings.</p><p>Bess was one of two men wanted in a March 23 shooting that seriously injured Brandon Eubanks. The other suspect, Keith Brian &#8220;Keefy Blood&#8221; Hayes, 23, was arrested by the USMS in Manhattan, New York in April.</p><p>Bess was arrested by deputies of the USMS Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Georgia on Sept. 30.</p><p>Court documents indicate that the next preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Dec. 3 before Kane.</p><style>
