Phone scammer allegedly confessed his crime to Thornhurst woman after conning her out of $1,500

<p>BERWICK &#8212; Working in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, the Berwick Police Department concluded an investigation Nov. 19 into the alleged distribution of heroin from 701 N. Chestnut St., Berwick.</p><p>As part of that ongoing investigation, a search and seizure warrant was executed. Jesse T. Harker, 22, and Rose M. Stokes, 26, both of 701 N. Chestnut St., were taken into police custody during service of the search and seizure warrant.</p><p>As a result of the search and seizure warrant, numerous items consistent with the distribution of heroin were discovered and seized as evidence. Seized were 12 grams of raw heroin, 572 glassine baggies of suspected heroin, 4 grams of cocaine and numerous amounts of drug paraphernalia.</p><p>Harker and Stokes have been arrested and charged with the same set of charges: 2 counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, 1 count of criminal conspiracy and 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance.</p><p>Both Harker and Stokes were to be arraigned in front of District Justice Knecht.</p><style>
