Brothers George J. Esseff and Monsignor John Essef honored for community service

<p>King&#8217;s College senior football players Michael Martina and Justin Burke have been selected to play in the sixth annual D3Senior Classic, to be played December 19 in Myrtle Beach, SC.</p><p>Martina, a senior defensive end from Lafayette Hill who attended Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School, finished second on the Monarchs with 64 total tackles. He finished with a team-high 11.0 tackles for loss, including 8.5 quarterback sacks and two forced fumbles. Over the last two seasons Martina has had a combined 101 tackles, 17.0 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks.</p><p>Burke, a senior cornerback from Bridgewater, N.J. and a Bridgewater-Raritan High School grad, adds versatility with his ability to also play wide receiver as well as punt and kick returner.</p><p>This season, Burke broke up a team-high eight passes while making 24 tackles with an interception. During the course of his three year career at King&#8217;s, Burke has played in 22 games with 67 tackles, three interceptions and has broken up 11 passes. He was named second-team All-MAC as a cornerback and was an honorable mention choice as a return specialist.</p><p>The game will be played at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach with kickoff set for 12:30 p.m.</p><p>More information is available at: http://www.playcdfl.com/2015-d3-senior-classic.html.</p><p><strong>High School Girls Soccer</strong></p><p><strong>Meyers standouts included on All-Star team</strong></p><p>Meyers High School soccer players Kayley Nilon, Erin Morris and Jordan Givens were accidentally omitted from the original Wyoming Valley Conference All-Star team.</p><p>Nilon was a second-team selection, while Morris and Givens were chosen as honorable mentions.</p><style>
