Letter to the Editor: Sales tax proposal won’t be good for Pennsylvania economy or fair to CPA clients

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A man accused of robbing a Turkey Hill at knife point is heading to higher court.</p><p>Jason Demski, 32, of Glen Lyon, appeared before Magisterial District Judge Martin Kane on Monday for a preliminary hearing. A felony robbery charge was waived to court, while a second robbery charge and a witness intimidation charge were dismissed.</p><p>Assistant district attorney Justin Paul Richards explained that, per a plea agreement, Demski is expected to plead guilty to the charge. If he does not, all charges will be brought back against him.</p><p>Demski is accused of stealing over $200 from the Turkey Hill on East Main Street Aug. 18. Police say Demski entered the store with a &#8220;thin object&#8221; in his hands, approached the counter and told the staff &#8220;let&#8217;s go, give me the money in three seconds or I will stab you with this.&#8221;</p><p>The employees then reportedly backed away from the register. Police say Demski then took $112 and allegedly demanded money from the clerk&#8217;s drawer.</p><p>In total, Demski allegedly left the store with $218.</p><p>A formal arraignment has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 12 in the Luzerne County Courthouse.</p><p>Demski remains jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.</p><style>
