Letter to the Editor: Inaction on Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act sends wrong signal

Recently, I was at the Nanticoke Post Office to mail a Thanksgiving package to my son David who is serving in the Air Force in the United Arab Emirates.I was pleasantly surprised that the man in back of me, Mr. Steve Rutkowski, inquired about the box I was shipping. I told him what it was and that my son is in the Armed Forces. Being a Marine and National Guardsman himself, Mr. Rutkowski offered to pay for the postage for my son&#8217;s package. I was taken aback to happy tears as I was allowed to see that there is still much goodness and appreciation in humanity.Next, a Vietnam veteran standing behind Mr. Rutkowski overheard our conversation. He offered to pay something toward my postage.I just want to wish Mr. Rutkowski, the Vietnam veteran and all who appreciate what our servicemen and servicewomen do for us on a daily basis a huge compliment, coming from a proud mother of a current member of the Air Force.
