<p>DALLAS TWP. &#8212; Working as a tag team, sisters Kaylee, 9, and Olivia Farrell, 7, paired up while shopping at the Dallas Elementary School&#8217;s Parent Teacher Organization Holiday Shopping Event Dec. 4 and 5.</p><p>The duo was two of the nearly 200 holiday shoppers who converged on the school&#8217;s cafeteria Friday night.</p><p>Erica Elgonitis, event chairwoman and PTO president, said the two-day event often draws a crowd, but the focus is on bringing the school community together to share in holiday cheer.</p><p>Guests browsed merchandise provided by 10 vendors, including Lovely Beaded Things, Pretty Piggies, Unique Treasures, Thimbles and Threads, Initials Inc., Jamberry, Tastefully Simple, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, and AdvoCare, a nutritional supplement and weight loss company.</p><p>A bake sale, a Dallas School District Spirit Wear sale and 29 raffle baskets donated by area businesses and event vendors were also available.</p><p>Tickets for raffle baskets and bags of warm popcorn were sold for 50 cents each.</p><p>Children who opted out of shopping could make a holiday craft for $1 to take home.</p><p>All proceeds benefited the Dallas Elementary School PTO to help provide educational field trips, Elgonitis said.</p><p>Holiday music, provided by fifth-grade band members, added to the holiday atmosphere.</p><p>Jaymie McLaughlin and her son, Mikey, 6, looked for that special gift for Mikey&#8217;s dad, grandparents and two sisters.</p><p>&#8220;This is the first year we came to this event,&#8221; Jaymie said. &#8220;I think this is great for the kids. It gives them a sense of independence.&#8221;</p><p>Santa could not stay away from all the holiday spirit and arrived at 7 p.m. Dec. 4.</p><p>He walked around and talked with shoppers before settling into a big red chair to read the &#8220;&#8217;Twas the Night Before Christmas.&#8221;</p><style>
