<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Third Eye Blind has gone multi-platinum and charted in six different countries since their self-titled debut in 1997, and drummer Brad Hargreaves has been present for all of it. Some bands may me content to lean on their commercial success, but Hargreaves said he and his fellow Third Eye Blind members take a what-have-we-done-for-you-lately approach to their band.</p><p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think we really look at our career in terms of records anymore; we&#8217;re just a band that tours and every once in awhile we put out records,&#8221; Hargreaves said. &#8220;I enjoy our touring success more. We&#8217;ve been fortunate enough to have people stick with us along the way who feel like they&#8217;re in on a secret they want other people to know.&#8221;</p><p>The band&#8217;s latest tour will stop at the F.M. Kirby Center Dec. 20 when Third Eye Blind headlines Fuzz 92.1&#8217;s Nutcracker Ball. Hargreaves said the band inserts emotional peaks and valleys into the atmospheric topography of their live shows so they can create a memorable event for those who attend. They have five album&#8217;s worth of songs to build a landscape from, including those from their newest release, &#8220;Dopamine.&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;As the record has gotten out there, more and more people have heard it it&#8217;s been great,&#8221; Hargreaves said. &#8220;It definitely is more fun to play new songs just because they&#8217;re fresher. When I see people singing along to them it&#8217;s like they&#8217;re proud of us for having new songs they think stack up to what we&#8217;ve done.&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;Dopamine&#8221; was released June 15 and garnered positive reviews from critics. Fans seemed to enjoy the record too, putting it at No. 13 on Billboard&#8217;s Top 200 upon its release. </p><p>In addition to playing F.M. Kirby Center Dec. 20, Third Eye Blind&#8217;s Stephan Jenkins will give <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/features/497929/third-eye-blind-acoustic-show-meet-and-greet-set-for-dec-20-at-wilkes-barre-record-store-gallery-of-sound" target="_blank">a 2 p.m. acoustic performance</a> that day at Wilkes-Barre record store Gallery of Sound&#8217;s Mundy Street location. According to Hargreaves, fans who attend are in for a treat.</p><p>&#8220;He&#8217;s great at doing a tempered, storyteller performance,&#8221; Hargreaves said. &#8220;I think any time a musician gets the opportunity to do something different or out of the norm for what their usual routine is, it kind of lends itself to the opportunity to have something new and creative happen. It&#8217;s an alternative way to explore the bounds of whatever song they&#8217;re playing.&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;They have had a couple of in stores here, and they happen to be on a label we have good relations with,&#8221; Gallery of Sound co-owner Joe Nardone Jr. added. &#8220;Fans can expect a short set of acoustic songs from Stephan and then the full band will sign CDs, LPs and posters.&#8221;</p><p>Hargreaves said Third Eye Blind&#8217;s 2016 is already taking shape. They&#8217;ll start the year by releasing a new single from &#8220;Dopamine&#8221; and later they&#8217;ll record another nine songs that didn&#8217;t make it onto the aforementioned album. Their 2016 tour schedule is also starting to take shape, with dates planned into April and a number of festivals already added to their calendar. Third Eye Blind fans in Wilkes-Barre won&#8217;t have to wait until a 2016 date to see the band; they&#8217;ll have two chances Dec. 20.
