Minor, heavy traffic could slow the morning commute

<p>Rain is expected in the Wyoming Valley Today, and some snow is also predicted for the weekend.</p><p>Otherwise, the region can expect some sunshine and colder temperatures.</p><p>The National Weather Service indicated that it was 49 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies reported.</p><p>A chance of showers or drizzle will become rain after 11 a.m. this afternoon. A 90 percent chance of rain is predicted, and a quarter of an inch of rainfall is possible. Today&#8217;s high will be near 52.</p><p>Rain will continue to be likely before midnight tonight, followed by a slight chance of showers into the overnight hours. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the low will be around 37.</p><p>Partly sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, with a high near 39. Mostly cloudy skies are expected on Friday night, with scattered flurries predicted after 1 a.m. The low will be around 27.</p><p>Scattered snow showers will be possible before 1 p.m. on Saturday, with scattered flurries possible into the afternoon hours. Partly sunny skies are expected otherwise, with a high near 33.</p><p>Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Saturday night, with a low around 24.</p><p>Mostly sunny skies will round out the week on Sunday, with a high near 39.
