Ashley church brightens community’s spirits by caroling around town

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; UGI crews on Sunday continued working to restore gas service to 125 properties in the Rolling Mill Hill section of Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>A malfunction at a UGI facility caused over-pressurization of a gas line, which left residences without natural gas service since Friday morning.</p><p>The impacted properties are on Airy Street, a section of Stanton Street and on Griffith, Harkins and Lloyds lanes.</p><p>According to UGI spokesman Joseph Swope, restoration of natural gas in homes began around 2:30 p.m Sunday.</p><p>While the full restoration may take a few days, UGI&#8217;s priority is restoring heat and hot water to the homes of as many customers as possible, Swope said.</p><p>Customers who cannot be home and must communicate special access instructions to UGI should call the company&#8217;s contact center at 1-800-276-2722 or visit the command center at the city&#8217;s South Fire Station, 313 High St.</p><p>Customers who smell gas should immediately leave the structure and call UGI&#8217;s contact center from a safe location.</p><style>
