Leslie S. Richards: PennDOT aims to keep you moving throughout 2016 and beyond

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The Maslow Faculty Reading Series, which traditionally features readings from faculty and alumni of Wilkes University&#8217;s graduate creative writing program, will return Jan. 10 and conclude Jan. 14. Each night&#8217;s program is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.</p><p>Sunday, Jan. 10&#8217;s reading will occur at Barnes &amp; Noble Bookseller&#8217;s downtown Wilkes-Barre location and will feature fiction and nonfiction readings from faculty and alumni. Works will be available at the event.</p><p>Monday, Jan. 11&#8217;s program will be held at downtown Wilkes-Barre&#8217;s R.C. Movies 14 and will feature a screening of &#8220;Showing Roots,&#8221; a comedic drama set in 1977 about two socially-conscious women inspired by the television mini-series &#8220;Roots.&#8221; A panel discussion will follow the screening.</p><p>Readings from Jan. 12 through Jan. 14 will be held at Dorothy Dickson Darte Center on Wilkes&#8217; campus. Tuesday, Jan. 12 will showcase fiction, poetry and nonfiction faculty. Wednesday, Jan. 13 will feature Playwrights Readers Ensemble performances. The series will conclude Thursday, Jan. 14 with faculty readings and a reading from Etruscan Press author Laurie Cannady.
