Gap remains in “stopgap” education budget

Thank you. I owe so many of those to people for allowing me to serve Luzerne County over the past several years as an elected servant.Thank you, first, to the residents of Luzerne County. Service is an honor and never a curse. Thank you to my boss for letting me take a &#8220;night job&#8221; for all these years. Thank you to my parents, who showed constant encouragement. Most importantly, thank you to my wife and kids. Too much time was stolen from them over the past five years, but they remain my best counselors in any decision.Lastly, thank you to my fellow council members and the county staff. Your work is appreciated, and it&#8217;s the county administration that does the real work every day moving us forward.County government is more important than ever. I appreciate the Times Leader&#8217;s coverage and interest, and reporter Jen Learn-Andes is truly one of the best in the business when it comes to reporting.While the names of the county council members are easily forgotten upon the ending of service, I hope the progress remains indelible and built upon by future members. Luzerne County&#8217;s future remains bright as long as good people always step up to serve. While the results don&#8217;t always go the best way (and often compromise must win the day), we move forward inch by inch into a more prosperous tomorrow. Thank you again.Jim BobeckKingston
