Two men picked up in citywide drug investigation in Wilkes-Barre

<p>DALLAS &#8212; The greater Dallas region will have its moment in the limelight as WVIA&#8217;s &#8220;Our Town Dallas&#8221; series is scheduled to premiere Feb. 4.</p><p>The public broadcast television station targeted the Back Mountain community in October to be showcased in its &#8220;Our Town&#8221; series.</p><p>The program allows residents to tell stories of their community from history to what makes it tick.</p><p>For two months, volunteer videographers, photographers and storytellers focused on local aspects of the region&#8217;s agricultural history, businesses, services, programs and educational opportunities in the greater Dallas area.</p><p>Their hard work, combined with the finishing touches by WVIA&#8217;s producers and staff, have resulted in a new episode of WVIA&#8217;s &#8220;Our Town&#8221; series.</p><p>&#8220;Our Town Dallas&#8221; will premiere at 7 p.m. Feb 4 on WVIA with an encore presentation at noon Feb. 7.</p><p>A sneak peak into &#8220;Our Town Dallas&#8221; reveals how family-owned farms such as Brace&#8217;s Orchard stay true to their generational roots in agriculture by harvesting fresh fruit for area residents.</p><p>The program also honors the past with a segment on the 1940s textile plant Natona Mills in Dallas Township that has since been renovated to become Twin Stacks Center.</p><p>An innovative program forging a partnership between Dallas School District and area businesses provides high school juniors and seniors a chance to learn about careers of interest while single mothers can pursue their education degrees and reside with their children at Misericordia University&#8217;s Rasmussen House in Dallas.</p><p>But wait &#8212; that&#8217;s not all.</p><p>The Back Mountain&#8217;s artistic flare is captured at Verve Vertu Art Studio and every July, the Back Mountain Memorial Library Auction bonds the community together.</p><p>To-date, WVIA has produced 25 episodes of &#8220;Our Town&#8221; each focusing on a different community in the television station&#8217;s 22-county coverage area.</p><p>Other upcoming &#8220;Our Town&#8221; productions will feature Clarks Summit in March and the Municipality of Kingston in June.</p><style>
