PennDOT plow truck tracking now available online

<p>You&#8217;ve probably seen the ads. With just a few minutes, several times a week, Lumosity &#8220;brain training&#8221; can help you perform better in work or school.</p><p>The Federal Trade Commission disagrees.</p><p>The FTC alleges the creators and marketers of Lumosity deceived consumers with unfounded claims that the &#8220;brain training&#8221; games could help users perform to their &#8220;full potential in every aspect of life,&#8221; and suggested their games could delay memory loss, dementia, and Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.</p><p>&#8220;But Lumosity simply did not have the science to back up its ads,&#8221; said Jessica Rich, director of the FTC&#8217;s Bureau of Consumer Protection.</p><p>Lumos Labs, the company behind Lumosity, agreed to pay $2 million in customer refunds and provide customers with an easy way to cancel their auto-renewal to avoid future billing,<a href="https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases/2016/01/lumosity-pay-2-million-settle-ftc-deceptive-advertising-charges" target="_blank"> according to the settlement </a>announced last week.</p><p>A <a href="http://www.lumosity.com/press/news" target="_blank">letter addressed to Lumosity members</a> on its website states: &#8220;It is important to note that this settlement does not speak to the rigor of our research or the quality of our products. We proudly stand behind the Lumosity product that millions of our members train with each month.&#8221;</p><style>
