New York man condemned for Texas slayings loses court appeal

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania judicial conduct prosecutors and a suspended state Supreme Court justice's lawyers are revealing who they plan to call as witnesses when the justice goes before an ethics court on allegations related to the exchange of bawdy and objectionable emails. The witnesses' names were submitted earlier this week to the Court of Judicial Discipline, ahead of a pretrial conference next week in the pending case against Justice Michael Eakin. Eakin is on temporary, paid suspension and faces possible removal if convicted of misconduct allegations. His lawyers and the Judicial Conduct Board both listed Harrisburg lawyer Terry McGowan, who originated many of the emails, and Deputy Attorney General Jeff Baxter, whose exchanges with Eakin about plans to visit a South Carolina strip club and Eakin's female staff are among the allegations.
