PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia's newly-retired police commissioner is headed to Drexel University. Charles Ramsey is the inaugural Distinguished Visiting Fellow of the Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation, which is focused on urban revitalization. Ramsey will also work with the university's criminology and justice studies department. The fellowship is the second post-retirement role he's taken since stepping down this month. Ramsey also began working as a consultant in Wilmington, Delaware, helping the city's police department tackle issues of gun violence Ramsey retired after eight years as head of the country's fourth largest police department, ending a nearly five-decade career in law enforcement that also included eight years as Washington's police chief. Last year, he was named co-chair of President Barack Obama's Task Force on 21st Century Policing.
