MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. (AP) — An assistant high school basketball coach has been suspended with pay after Pennsylvania school officials learned of inappropriate social media messages he sent to several female players. One 10th-grade player at Sto-Rox High School told officials the messages made her uncomfortable. District Superintendent Terry DeCarbo says the coach was suspended within 45 minutes of DeCarbo learning of the messages. The coach is not a teacher at the school in the district just west of Pittsburgh. Allegheny County police aren't commenting beyond confirming that they're investigating the messages. DeCarbo says it's unclear whether there was any physical contact between the students and the coach. School officials aren't releasing the coach's name because he's not been charged with any crimes.
