IN BRIEF: TRAFFIC JUDGES CHARGED — A state discipline court has found a former Philadelphia traffic judge fixed tickets and violated ethics in a ruling that could cost him his state pension. Michael Sullivan was acquitted in a sweeping federal ticket-fixing case in 2014 that sent several of his colleagues to prison. PEDESTRIAN STRUCK — Police in Philadelphia are searching for a driver who struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. The man was hit around 3 a.m. Friday at the intersection of 5th Street and Hunting Park Avenue, in North Philadelphia. MAN FALLS IN RIVER — Police in Philadelphia say a construction worker has died after he fell into the Delaware River on the job. Chief Inspector Scott Small says officers were called to Pier 78 in south Philadelphia after 8:30 p.m. Thursday. TEEN SLAIN — A man has been sentenced to life in prison nearly two decades after the rape and murder of a Philadelphia teenager. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Rafael Crespo received a life-sentence without the possibility of parole Thursday in Philadelphia. The 49-year-old man also received 15 to 30 years for sexual-assault charges. BUSINESS AHOLD-BUFFALO LANCASTER, N.Y. — Supermarket company Ahold USA says it will transfer its warehouse operations out of the Buffalo area in a move that will eliminate 600 jobs. Pennsylvania-based Ahold says Thursday the decision will affect warehouses run by its American Sales Company in the suburbs of Lancaster and Cheektowaga. The operations will be transferred to C&S Wholesale Grocers facilities in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and South Hatfield, Massachusetts. Ahold says the C&S facilities are in better locations to serve its grocery stores. SPORTS: STEELERS-NO AB? PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have proven they can be competitive without Ben Roethlisberger. They might have to find out if the can do it without All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown too.
