<p>KINGSTON &#8212; A homeless man accused of robbing a Turkey Hill at gunpoint is heading to higher court.</p><p>Ryan Romanoskey, 23, appeared before Magisterial District Judge Paul Roberts for a preliminary hearing Wednesday. He waived a single felony count of robbery and misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats and theft by unlawful taking to higher court.</p><p>Two felony counts of robbery and a misdemeanor count of possession of an instrument with criminal intent were withdrawn.</p><p>According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched to the Turkey Hill on 455 Main St. in Kingston Oct. 25 for a report of an armed robbery. Police spoke with a store clerk, who told police a man, later identified as Romanoskey, entered the store with a scarf over his face and demanded all the money in the store.</p><p>The clerk initially questioned him, and Romanoskey then told her to give him all the money or he would kill her before displaying a handgun at his waistband.</p><p>The clerk also told police Romanoskey dropped cash from his pocket while initially demanding money.</p><p>The clerk then opened the drawer, and Romanoskey allegedly took nearly all the cash from inside and two cartons of cigarettes before fleeing the scene.</p><p>Police later determined the man took approximately $133 in cash along with the cigarettes.</p><p>Police later found money on the ground outside the store, and followed the trail of money on the sidewalk on the east side of Center Avenue. That is where police say they found a replica, semi-automatic BB gun in the street.</p><p>A search on a grassy path across the street behind houses on Zerbey Avenue revealed two cartons of cigarettes similar to the ones Romanoskey allegedly removed from the store.</p><p>Police investigation later determined Romanoskey entered the Turkey Hill shortly before the alleged robbery. Video surveillance showed he entered the store shortly after 2 a.m., asked the clerk to sell her a cigarette but the clerk declined.</p><p>An officer familiar with Romanoskey later identified him.</p><p>A formal arraignment date has been set for 9:30 a.m. March 31 in the Luzerne County Courthouse. He remains jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $15,000 bail.</p><style>
