State of emergency declared in Pennsylvania ahead of winter storm

People today mistakenly believe that fighting global poverty is something about which much is being done. On average, Americans estimate that 20 percent of the federal budget goes toward foreign assistance. However, this is simply not the case.Less than 1 percent of the entire U.S. federal budget is spent on foreign aid. With benefits coming to those in which the aid is given and also to the United States itself, an increase in foreign assistance spending is justified. Not only does providing aid to the downtrodden show compassion, it also stabilizes unsettled governments, creates untapped foreign markets and increases U.S. national security.<a href="http://borgenproject.org/" target="_blank">The Borgen Project</a> is an organization whose goal is to raise awareness and fight global poverty in order to benefit all those involved.By dedicating a small portion of the federal budget toward foreign aid, along with the perseverance of those who wish to right a wrong, there will be a better tomorrow for those who have suffered today.Kyle BondaArchbald
