Magisterial district judge office moves in the works

<p>State police earlier this month recovered three devices found in the home of the late Samuel Vacante, including a 4GB thumb drive, a Samsung Galaxy Tablet and Compaq computer, the document shows. <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/403803/state-police-take-storage-container-watch-case-in-butler-township-homicide-case" target="_blank">Investigators previously seized</a> an empty storage container and a watch box from Vacante&#8217;s home.</p><p>The devices might contain communications between the victim or others with knowledge of the homicide that might produce new details or a potential motive in the crime, state police stated in the document. The warrant was issued Jan. 6 by Magisterial District Judge Daniel O&#8217;Donell and carried out sometime within the following two days.</p><p>Vacante, 52, was found with a gunshot wound to the back and wrapped in a tent in a wooded area in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County on Sept. 6.</p><p>Eleazar Yisrael, 30, of W. 10th St., Hazleton, <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/380969/hazleton-man-charged-with-homicide" target="_blank">was charged with Vacante&#8217;s death</a> on Sept. 9. Police had said Yisrael was in a relationship with Vacante&#8217;s estranged wife, Lisa, that began in 2013.</p><p>State police allege Yisrael murdered Vacante, tried to clean up the scene, drove away with Vacante&#8217;s body in the victim&#8217;s own car and then disposed of it.</p><p>Yisrael is currently jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. He is scheduled to be tried in Vacante&#8217;s death May 31 at the Luzerne County Courthouse.</p><style>
