Area Agency on Aging centers collect for Toys for Tots

EXETER: The Cosmopolitan Seniors Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, in St. Anthony&#8217;s Center. Hostesses are Jennifer Collura, Virginia Craig, Fran Lepo and Kathy Loucks. Dues will continue to be collected.Forty one members attended the previous meeting. Rose Mary Golenski won the special game prize and the jackpot prize was won by Florence Stankoski. Winners of the 50/50 drawing were Lou Bryja, Mary Coleman, Toni Hall, Marion Kratzer and Betsie Williams.A Casino trip is scheduled to Sands Casino on Thursday, Feb. 18. Pick-ups are in Exeter and Pittston. Club membership is not required to join our trips. She will then sponsor a bingo game.On Monday and Feb. 8 the center will be painting clay pots or making valentine wreaths.The book club will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Monday to discuss &#8220;Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal by Eric Schlosset. Beth Rutkowski is the facilitator.Krisiti Green, RN from Traditional Hospice will visit at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, to discuss &#8220;How to Maintain a Healthy Heart.&#8221; Blood pressures will be checked from 12:40 -1 p.m.Valentine&#8217;s Day will be celebrated from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, with George Rittenhouse. There will be a special lunch and party.HANOVER TWP.: The Lee Park Active Adult Center will host staff from The Hampton House at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, on the topic of heart health.Golden Living staff members will be available at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, for Valentine bingo. There will be a special Valentine Day lunch with entertainment by George Rittenhouse at 12:30 p.m.MOUNTAIN TOP: The Mountaintop Social Club welcomes anyone 55 years of age and older to join them. Doors will open at 3:15 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of February (Feb. 9 and 23) at the Father Nolan Center at St. Jude&#8217;s School in the day room. This course is for individuals who have completed either the 2-part basic course or refresher course within the past three years.These courses are open to anyone, if over 60 you may be eligible for a five percent auto insurance discount for the next three years. These courses need to be renewed every three years.The cost is $20 per person, or $15 for an AARP member. Students should bring pens, a driver&#8217;s license, a check payable to AARP to the first class, and their AARP membership card, if a member. The $5 dues will be collected during the month of January.From the last meeting the winner of the springer drawing was Dorothy Sullivan; the 50-50 winners were Dorothy Sullivan and Midge Malshefski.There is a trip on Wednesday, March 30, to Hollywood Casino.
