PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A special education teacher is suing a year after the roof of a downtown Philadelphia athletic-wear store collapsed on her and two of her friends. Allison Friedman filed a negligence lawsuit Tuesday against the owners of the nearly century-old building adjacent to the now-shuttered Lululemon Athletica store. Walnut Street Associates and Pearl Properties Commercial Management are named. Officials say a protective wall on the adjacent building dislodged last January and fell onto the store's roof, which partially collapsed. A city official has said investigators believe water infiltration, along with freezing and thawing, may have caused the bricks to dislodge. Friedman's attorney says the building's owners knew or should've known a serious accident was imminent. Pearl Properties hasn't responded to requests for comment.
