We recently celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ. Those of us who are privileged to belong to the historic St. Mary&#8217;s Church of the Immaculate Conception, Wilkes-Barre, and others who were present at the vigil Mass will never forget the service.Jesus was honored with a live Nativity enactment. The ballet dancers preforming for Jesus were superb, as was the choir under the expert organist Mark Ignatovich and his wife, Doreen.The faithful who spent hours decorating this house of God are to be commended. Our pastor, the Rev. Duane Gavitt, delivered the homily.Santa Claus was present!Our church was filled to overflowing; even the balcony was packed. One had to arrive early for a seat. Many, many young families and their children were present.People didn&#8217;t want to leave after the Mass.The faithful are looking and praying for more of such happenings honoring Jesus.Frank MrufchinskiNanticoke
