<p>SCRANTON &#8212; A Kingston resident involved in a conspiracy to distribute bath salts in the Luzerne County area was sentenced Friday to five years behind bars, the U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office announced.</p><p>Frank Brennan, 35, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion after previously pleading guilty to a role in a West Pittston-based drug ring that distributed alpha-PVP, or &#8220;bath salts,&#8221; in the county between 2012 and 2013.</p><p>Prosecutors said Brennan, who was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2014, is one of 11 people charged with trafficking the drug, which was shipped from wholesalers in Texas and sold in the county.</p><p>All 11 suspects have pleaded guilty, prosecutors said.</p><p>The conviction was the result of a joint investigation by Pennsylvania State Police, West Pittston police, agents of the Department of Homeland Security, the Drug Enforcement Administration and United States Postal Inspection Service.</p><p>Mannion ordered Brennan to be placed on three years&#8217; supervised release following his sentence.</p><style>
