Wall Street worker David Wichs (wihks) was praised for his good deeds during his funeral Sunday at a synagogue on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Wichs died Friday. He was a mathematics whiz who worked at a computerized-trading firm. Relatives have said Wichs was born in Prague, moved to the United States as a teenager and graduated from Harvard University. City officials say it could take weeks to determine why the crane came crashing down while it was being lowered during strong winds. ___ 9:30 a.m. A construction crane has been removed from the New York City street where it collapsed, killing a pedestrian. The area in lower Manhattan was still blocked off Sunday morning, but the crumpled steel from the 565-foot-long crane is now gone. Work crews had sliced it up into dozens of pieces.
