TOP STORIES: BLACK MEN-COLLEGE SUCCESS PHILADELPHIA — At many mainstream colleges, black students — especially black males — find themselves balancing their studies with how to navigate race. For some, negative stereotypes can push black males to transfer or even drop out of school. A new study published in the winter issue of the Harvard Educational Review is highlighting the alternative: Thriving black male college students, and the reasons for their success. EXCHANGE: EXCHANGE-RESURRECTED DRIVE-IN GRATZ — Although blue skies appeared through a hole in the screen at the Sky-Vu Drive-In Theater in Gratz on Friday, Tim Neal saw it as an opportunity and a "perfect" fit. Neal, along with his wife, Renate, plan to reopen the Dauphin County drive-in this spring, since leasing the Route 25 theater last fall. "It's been my dream to operate a drive-in," Neal, Chambersburg, said. "It's just a special place. I see families coming here, kids playing and couples having dates." On Friday, they reviewed their ongoing renovations, including plans to replace a plywood panel on the screen in March, and have a targeted opening date of mid- to late April, weather permitting. TRAFFIC STOP-POLICE SHOOTING — A university has hired an outside consultant for nearly $400,000 to review its police department for reforms in the aftermath of an officer's fatal shooting of a black man after a traffic stop near campus. SPORTS: HKN--FLYERS-CAPITALS WASHINGTON — The Philadelphia Flyers visit the Washington Capitals as part of their traditional Super Bowl Sunday matchup.
