Wyoming Valley West School District is holding its kindergarten registration for the 2016-2017 school year during the months of February and March. Parents may access the registration site 24/7 starting in February at www.wvwspartans.org. If no access to a computer call the central office at 570-288-6551, extension 10602, for an appointment to use a district computer.Kindergarten ages are five years on or before Sept. 1, 2016. First grade entrants must be six years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2016.After on-line registration is complete you will be prompted to make an appointment with the registrar. The child&#8217;s birth certificate, immunization records, parent/guardian identification and proof of residency are required.The kindergarten screening process will be in April. Areas to be covered will be vision, hearing, education, gross motor control and immunization/health history. These immunizations are required: 4 doses of diphtheria and tetanus vaccine (one dose administered on or after the fourth birthday); 3 doses of polio vaccine; 3 doses of hepatitis B vaccine; 2 doses of measles, mumps and rubella (MMR); 2 doses varicella vaccine (chicken pox) or proof of disease.Check the web site for updated information on registration.
