WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) — The service workers' union has ratified a three-year contract with Washington Hospital that union officials say will pay workers $15 hourly by the end of the deal. Members of Service Employees International Union Healthcare Pennsylvania voted on the deal Wednesday. The union had threatened to strike on Feb. 16 and 17, but both sides agreed on a new contract Monday night. The union's last three-year contract with the hospital expired Jan. 31. The union's 400 workers include maintenance, housekeeping, dietary and secretarial employees and comprise nearly one-fourth of the hospital's 1,723 employees. A hospital spokeswoman didn't immediately return a call for comment Thursday. Union officials didn't disclose terms of the deal, beyond the wage increase. The hospital is located in Washington, Pennsylvania, about 25 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.
