TOP STORIES: SUPREME COURT JUSTICE-EMAILS HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania's judicial ethics court is giving Attorney General Kathleen Kane two weeks to produce material for a pending disciplinary case against Supreme Court Justice Michael Eakin. Judge Jack Panella with the Court of Judicial Discipline signed an order Thursday setting a Feb. 25 deadline to fulfill a demand for emails involving Eakin since 2008. Moved 130 words. Upcoming: 450 words by 4 p.m. DEAN REASSIGNED-SPENDING INDIANA, Pa. — Indiana University of Pennsylvania has reassigned one of its deans after a newspaper questioned more than $35,000 in spending linked to him. The state-owned university is moving Mark Correia from dean of the College of Health and Human Services to "special assistant to the provost for curriculum development," the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review first reported. IN BRIEF: FORT DIX-KILLING PLOT — A federal judge in New Jersey has rejected the appeal of a Philadelphia man serving more than three decades behind bars after he was convicted of scheming to kill soldiers at Fort Dix, according to a ruling released Thursday. CHILD'S BEATING DEATH-PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia woman accused of doing nothing as her boyfriend beat her 4-year-old daughter to death has been sentenced to four to eight years in prison. Josephita Brown pleaded guilty two years ago to conspiracy, involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment in the 2013 death of her daughter. SCHOOL TEACHER-CHILD PORN — A Pennsylvania substitute middle school teacher has been charged with posing as a woman online to get an underage girl to send him nude photos. Twenty-six-year-old Jonathan Brecht (brehkt), of Franklin Park, is charged with one count of possessing child pornography. He's a seventh-grade math teacher in the Seneca Valley School District. URSINUS COLLEGE-ILLNESS — Classes and weekend activities have been canceled at Ursinus College in eastern Pennsylvania as the school deals with a mystery illness that has sickened more than 190 students. University spokeswoman Esme Artz says at least 192 students have reported symptoms of a stomach infection. She says Friday's classes were canceled "out of an abundance of caution" but will resume Monday. FALCON NEST-CAMERA — Two peregrine falcons are back at their nest atop a government building in downtown Harrisburg, and people can watch their activities through a livestream on the Internet. People can now monitor year-round the nest on the 15th floor of the Department of Environmental Protection's Rachel Carson State Office Building. PENNSYLVANIA ATTORNEY GENERAL — Pennsylvania's embattled attorney general says politics in the state is "a disease" that "needs to be cut out." Democrat Kathleen Kane spoke with WNEP-TV in Scranton after the state Senate narrowly rejected a resolution Wednesday that needed a two-thirds majority to order her removal from office. MISSING MAN-HOMICIDE — A man's body has been found buried in the crawl space of a Pennsylvania garage, and two people are in custody. An autopsy is set for Friday. Investigators believe it will positively identify the victim as 18-year-old Marcus Mattson, who was last seen alive Feb. 5. COLD TEMPS-PENNSYLVANIA — Temperatures forecast to be near or below zero have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a wind chill advisory in western Pennsylvania. Friday's high was forecast in the low 20s with a wind chill just below zero. The overnight low early Saturday should be in the single digits, with the wind chill at minus-13 degrees. FREIGHT TRAIN DERAILMENT — A specialty metals firm in western Pennsylvania is suing a Philadelphia-based railroad after a derailed car hit its building two years ago. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that MSI Corp. filed a federal lawsuit Thursday against Norfolk Southern Railway for damages. SNAKE IN THE TRASH — Commuters got a shock when a person discovered a live snake in a trash can at a Philadelphia train station. The snake was found coiled up Friday morning at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority Convention Avenue station. NUCLEAR PLANT-REPAIRS — Officials say two nuclear reactors in Ohio and Pennsylvania are shut down for repairs. The Plain Dealer in Cleveland reports (http://bit.ly/1TfO8qQ ) that the nearly 1300 megawatt FirstEnergy reactor in Perry, Ohio, was shut down earlier this week. WATER MAIN BREAK-PHILADELPHIA — A water main break in West Philadelphia is causing an icy mess and disrupting traffic and mass transit. Philadelphia's water department says a line from a water main to a fire hydrant broke early Friday morning near 63rd Street and Haverford Avenue. Cars along the street are encased in ice as temperatures hover around 18 degrees. The streets are a slick mix of ice, slush and water. PET-LOVING ROBBERY SUSPECT — A Pittsburgh woman jailed in four recent store robberies told police she needed money for dog food and kitty litter. Police say 28-year-old Melissa Santoro wasn't especially successful, netting less than $300 in the heists.
