Letter to the Editor: Heart patient expresses gratitude to pros who aided in recovery

Regarding Luzerne County&#8217;s purchase of the property on Young Street in Hanover Township:The property was auctioned one to two years ago on simulcast; the bidding started at $100,000. I was anticipating bidding, but I decided I was not going to bid because the bids went over $200,000 in a very short amount of time. I believe the property sold for $500,000.When I worked in the post office, federal property was donated to the U.S. Postal Service at no charge.Luzerne County had a very good chance of receiving the postal annex from the General Services Administration at no cost.Calls to our congressmen and senators would have been helpful in this transaction.Frank KwiatkowskiHanover Township
