Rolling Mill Hill Residents’ Association to meet on Wednesday

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Wilkes-Barre man nicknamed &#8220;Keefy Blood&#8221; was sentenced Tuesday on charges he tried to gun down another man early last year in a hallway at Sherman Hills.</p><p>Keith Brian Hayes, 24, last known address of 279 S. Washington St., pleaded guilty to attempted homicide Tuesday in Luzerne County Court and was sentenced by Judge Davis W. Lupas to five to 10 years in state prison. Aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and firearms charges were withdrawn as part of the plea agreement, court documents show.</p><p>Police allege Hayes, at the time a convicted felon, fired multiple shots at 24-year-old Brandon Eubanks on March 23 after a tussle broke out on the second floor of the troubled apartment complex. A surveillance camera allegedly recorded Hayes and another man walking through the hallway minutes before shots rang out.</p><p>A witness not named in the criminal complaint told police Hayes emerged from an apartment and confronted Eubanks in the hallway. During the fight, Hayes pulled out a handgun and shot Eubanks multiple times, the complaint says. Eubanks was struck in the neck and limbs but survived the barrage.</p><p>The attack wasn&#8217;t Eubanks&#8217; first brush with a deadly weapon.</p><p>Eubanks also <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/archive/217297" target="_blank">survived a stab wound </a>to his chest during an alleged domestic disturbance with his girlfriend, Tameeka Buggs, inside her Sherman Hills apartment on Feb. 3. Buggs, 28, had alleged Eubanks punched her and broke her phone.</p><p>Hayes fled the area after the shooting and was arrested in April by the U.S. Marshals Service in Manhattan, New York.</p><p>A second man charged in the shooting, Diondre &#8220;Porky&#8221; Bess, 28, was captured in Athens, Georgia, in October. Bess is awaiting trial, court records show.</p><style>
