Film on black student movement in 60s comes to King’s College

<p>Patrick McGrath stood in the locker room at the Toyota Sportsplex on Tuesday with two black eyes and a swollen nose and answered one of the biggest questions coming out of last Saturday&#8217;s game against Portland.</p><p>The tape on Sena Acolatse&#8217;s fingers had nothing to do with the outcome of their first-period fight.</p><p>After the spirited scrap that featured a few haymakers from both opponents, Acolatse was assessed a match penalty for having tape on his fingers during the fight in which McGrath was cut. Acolatse was also suspended one game by the AHL.</p><p>McGrath didn&#8217;t view it as a big deal and said players often tape their fingers and forget about it during a game.</p><p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think he meant to have the tape on there, but it happens. I&#8217;ve had it where you have cuts on your finger, you put a band-aid on it and throw some tape on it so it stays on,&#8221; McGrath said. &#8220;You forget to take it off. I don&#8217;t think it was an intent to hurt or anything.&#8221;</p><p>Head coach Clark Donatelli also didn&#8217;t believe Acolatse intentionally taped his fingers to gain an advantage during a fight and said he and associate coach Jay Leach were familiar with the rule but weren&#8217;t sure if it had changed.</p><p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think the fight would&#8217;ve went any differently,&#8221; Donatelli said. &#8220;It was a really good fight and that&#8217;s what those two do. It was a great spark for our team.&#8221;</p><p>The Shavertown native suffered a broken nose toward the end of the fight - the third or fourth of his career, he said, and shrugged off the wound as he did the tape on Acolatse&#8217;s fingers.</p><p>More importantly, it marked McGrath&#8217;s fourth game since his recall from Wheeling and seventh contest overall with the Penguins this season.</p><p>&#8220;Things are going pretty good. Getting more ice time and touches with the puck, it helps with your confidence,&#8221; McGrath said.</p><p>More ice time is something McGrath can expect for the immediate future while the Penguins are thin at forward due to call-ups and injuries.</p><p>&#8220;He&#8217;s a heart-and-soul type guy and his teammates love him,&#8221; said Donatelli, who also coached McGrath in Wheeling. &#8220;His game has picked up and he&#8217;s gotten faster. He&#8217;s come a long way.&#8221;</p><p>NOTES</p><p>- F Dominik Uher&#8217;s season came to end after he underwent shoulder surgery on Monday. Donatelli said the surgery was a success and Uher will be ready for next season. He added that Uher had been going through therapy to improve the shoulder, but he and the Pittsburgh organization ultimately decided surgery would be the best move for Uher&#8217;s career.</p><p>&#8220;He&#8217;s an honest kid, plays hard and he leads by his work ethic. You can&#8217;t place a guy like Dom. It&#8217;s a tough loss,&#8221; Donatelli said.</p><p>- D Barry Goers, who has been sidelined all season following surgery for a lower body injury, continues to practice with the red &#8220;no-contact&#8221; jersey and should be close to returning by the end of the month,&#8221; Donatelli said.</p><style>
