PAI Musical Theater Scholarship Competition offered at Wyoming Seminary

<p>EDWARDSVILLE &#8212; In this Times Leader file photo, taken by Kevin Gilbert, on Jan. 26, 1982, four children play the video game &#8220;Donkey Kong.&#8221;</p><p>The original caption that appeared in the newspaper is: &#8220;In front, left to right, David O&#8217;Rourke, 13, Kingston; Alan Janis, 12, Kingston, playing; Jack Austin, 16 Edwardsville (with headband); and in back, Ben Cabot, 13, from Kingston.&#8221;</p><p>The photo was taken at Star Trak at Narrows Shopping Mall.</p><p>&#8220;Donkey Kong&#8221; was released by Nintendo in 1981 and was an early example of the platform game genre.</p><p>The point of the game was for Mario to rescue Pauline, &#8220;a damsel in distress,&#8221; from a giant ape named Donkey Kong.</p><p>Mario and Donkey Kong became two of the most popular and well known names in gaming history.</p><style>
