<p>LUZERNE &#8212; Robert Edgerton, Jr. has been appointed president of Luzerne Bank by Richard A. Grafmyre, President and Chief Executive Officer.</p><p>The bank has offices in Luzerne, Swoyersville, Wilkes-Barre, Wyoming, Plains, Dallas, Hunlock Creek and Hazle Township.</p><p>A Dallas resident, Edgerton assumed the position Feb. 1.</p><p>Previously, he had served as the senior commercial lender of the organization.</p><p>&#8220;The Directors of Luzerne Bank are excited to have Bob lead the organization,&#8221; Grafmyre wrote in a press release. &#8220;We are confident Bob will meet all challenges with integrity and fairness, as well as common sense, traits he has continually displayed over his long banking career.&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;Our board believes the appointment of Bob as president will continue to support Luzerne Bank&#8217;s commitment to the community,&#8221; said Joseph E. Kluger, chairman of the board. &#8220;Bob is a native of the market and has been, and continues to be, a market leader, civically and professionally. We are confident that Bob&#8217;s knowledge of banking and his leadership will be a valuable asset to our employees and our customers.&#8221;</p><p>Edgerton is a graduate of Wyoming Seminary and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Susquehanna University and a MBA in Accounting from Wilkes University.</p><p>He has extensive experience in commercial lending and business.</p><p>Edgerton serves as president of the Dallas Borough Council, is vice-president of the Westmoreland Club, vice chairman of the Pennsylvania Economy League and a member of the board of directors at Penn State University, Wilkes Barre.</p><p>He and his wife, Nancy, have four grown children.</p><p>Penns Woods Bancorp, Inc. is the $1.3 billion parent company of Luzerne Bank and Jersey Shore State Bank.
