ERIE, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania county's health department wants to prevent tattoo artists from splitting the tongues of their customers, too. The Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/1QAdAHk ) reports the Erie County Department of Health is reviewing the regulations, which would also ban suspending bodies from hooks, burning or etching scars, and implanting objects under the skin. Breanna Adams, who inspects county tattoo parlors, says such services "are more like medical procedures." The county drafted its own regulations after statewide regulations that would have banned the procedures failed to be approved. The county regulations will be sent to Erie County Council for approval once the 30-day review period ends March 18.
