PLUM, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania school district has created a safety coordinator position after charges that three male teachers had sex with female students. The Plum School Board voted 6-3 to create the position Tuesday night. One board member opposing it said the district about 10 miles east of Pittsburgh can't afford it. Three teachers were charged with student-sex last year, and a fourth is accused of trying to intimidate an alleged victim by identifying her in class. The Allegheny County district attorney's office is conducting a grand jury investigation to determine whether the district properly fielded complaints about inappropriate teacher-student relationships. The DA's office also wants to delay the trial of Drew Zoldak, the teacher accused of intimidating the student. Prosecutors say a key witness won't be available if the trial starts as scheduled March 14.
