Bowling fundraiser boosts Relay for Life’s fight against cancer

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A group of Wilkes University nursing students hosted a flash mob and information panel Friday at Boscov&#8217;s department store in honor of Heart Health Month. Baltimore Life Insurance and the American Red Cross were also in attendance.</p><p>The future nurses hosted an interactive demonstration on performing hands-only CPR, in which those in attendance were invited to practice what they&#8217;ve learned on a mannequin. They also provided information in both English and Spanish regarding heart safety.</p><p>The nursing students performed the flash mob to the hit Bee Gees song &#8220;Stayin&#8217; Alive.&#8221;</p><p>The American Red Cross provided information about blood donations, emergency preparedness, first aid and CPR training and volunteer opportunities. Baltimore Life conducted &#8220;Toss the Junk&#8221; where participants were encouraged to pick out fast food and junk food containers to test their basketball skills.</p><style>
