UNIOTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A former western Pennsylvania police officer has admitted he had three illegally sawed-off shotguns at his home — including one taken from a police evidence room. The (Uniontown) Herald-Standard (http://bit.ly/1oRP1cu ) says Robert Kelly Jr. of Uniontown pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a pair of theft counts and four possessing an offensive weapon counts. Kelly was a Masontown police officer when Uniontown police responded to a 2013 domestic dispute at his home and found the illegal shotguns. One had been taken from the Masontown police station evidence room. The judge rejected arguments by Kelly's attorney that the gun was abandoned at the police station and that Kelly intended to return it. Kelly was sentenced to serve a year of probation.
