Bundy said while serving time in jail is the most difficult thing he's ever done, he doesn't regret what they did because he knew "it was right." A federal judge warned an assistant U.S. attorney last week that if he was going to file more charges against standoff leader Ammon Bundy and others accused in the occupation, he had best do it soon because the defendants have a right to a speedy trial. Lynch declined to specify what specific charges will be filed, saying they'll be discussed once the action is taken. ___ 2:20 p.m. A detention hearing for a New Hampshire man facing charges for his role in a standoff by Nevada ranchers opposed to federal control of public lands is being delayed until Monday. Gerald DeLemus, of Rochester, has been named as a "mid-level leader" and organizer of a conspiracy to recruit, organize, train and provide support to armed men and other followers of rancher Cliven Bundy. Bundy was arrested last month on charges stemming from a 2014 armed standoff with federal officials in Nevada. DeLemus was arrested Thursday. He appeared Thursday afternoon in federal court in Concord, New Hampshire. His attorneys and prosecutors agreed to delay the hearing. The indictment says DeLemus "organized and led armed patrols and security checkpoints." About two dozen supporters, including his wife, gave DeLemus a standing ovation when he entered the courtroom and his handcuffs were removed. The judge was not on the bench at the time and the ample security staff did nothing to quiet supporters. While milling outside the locked courtroom before the hearing began, DeLemus' wife — Susan DeLemus, a state representative — prompted supporters to link arms in a circle and pray. At the end of the prayer, former GOP state chair and tea party activist Jack Kimball, said in a quavering voice, "This is not my America. It's up to us to get it back." "This is our Waterloo," Kimball said. "Gerry is our Waterloo." Before the hearing, Susan DeLemus said she is working on hiring a private lawyer — Evan Nappen — to represent her husband. They are Clive Bundy's sons Ammon Bundy and Ryan Bundy, and supporters Ryan Payne, Peter Santilli Jr., Brian Cavalier and Blaine Cooper. Briana Bundy said on Thursday that 38-year-old Dave Bundy was arrested Thursday by the FBI at a home he is building in Delta, Utah. He is the son of Cliven Bundy, who was arrested last month on charges stemming from the standoff with federal officials in Nevada who were rounding up Bundy's cattle over unpaid grazing fees. Another son, Ammon Bundy, was arrested last month for his role in the occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge. Briana Bundy, the daughter-in-law of Cliven and Carol Bundy, called the arrests unjust. She says the family won't let the recent arrests stop them from fighting for their freedom.
