The following are recent Lackawanna County restaurant inspection reports from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. According the agency: &#8220;any inspection is a &#8216;snapshot&#8217; of the day and time of the inspection. An inspection conducted on any given day may not be representative of the overall, long-term cleanliness of an establishment. Also, at the time of the inspection violations are recorded but are often corrected on site prior to the inspector leaving the establishment.&#8221; The information is taken from the inspection database at www.eatsafepa.com. Postal addresses used here are as listed on the state&#8217;s website, and may not correspond to the municipalities in which facilities are physically located.Laura&#8217;s Pizza and Hoagies, 991 Lakeland Drive, Scott Township, Feb. 23. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Drinking water quality obtained from a non-public water system does not meet DEP water quality standards. Water test results from Jan. 2016 revealed elevated levels of coliform. The owner stated that four more samples were done and they had elevated levels of coliform. The owner stated that they contacted DEP at this time. The well was then chlorinated and samples were taken in Feb. 2016. Quantum labs notified the owner that coliform levels were once again elevated. This inspector contacted DEP supervisor in Scranton, PA during this inspection. According to DEP supervisor, facility followed proper procedures in regard to water testing. DEP inspector to follow up with facility. Facility using bottled water for food prep and drinking. Equipment and utensils are being sanitized in ware -washer that meets hot water sanitization temperatures.Luigi&#8217;s Pizza &amp; Hoagies, Inc. 302 Lackawanna Ave., Olyphant, Feb. 23. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Raw animal foods (eggs) were stored above ready-to-eat foods (deli meats) in the walk-in cooler. The eggs were moved during this inspection. Observed cardboard boxes of food stored directly on the floor in walk-in freezer area, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required. Observed dust between pizza ovens and wall in front area of facility.Revello&#8217;s Pizza, 502 S. Main St., Old Forge, Feb. 23. Violations; Observed ice buildup from walk in freezer refrigeration unit drain line. Webbing buildup observed on ceiling, wall areas of dry food storeroom. Person in charge cleaned during this inspection.Roseanna&#8217;s Pizza &amp; Pasta House, 1132 Main St., Peckville, Feb. 23. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Cigarette butt found in the hand-wash sink during the inspection.Person in charge removed and cleaned the sink during this inspection. Ceiling tiles missing in the kitchen area, and need replaced.Sayona Food Mart, 100 N. Keyser Ave., Old Forge, Feb. 23. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: one 1-pint milk with expired date of Feb. 19 and three-1pt milks with expired date of Feb. 22. one-1qt milk with expired date of Feb. 19. Removed from sale. Non-food contact surfaces (plastic milk shelving in walk-in cooler) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of mold-like buildup. Several floor tiles missing from walk-in cooler floor.Dickson City Stadium 14, 3909 Commerce Blvd.,Dickson City, Feb. 24. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Non-food contact surfaces (plate area behind Slushie machine nozzles) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of syrup residue.Down Home Cookin&#8217;, 234 S. Main St., Taylor, Feb. 24. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Cigarette butts, ashtray found on the counter in the prep area during the inspection. The items were removed during this inspection. Turkey and ham were held at 65 and 69 degrees F, in the prep area, rather than 135 degrees F or above as required. Violations: Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate quatenary sanitizer concentration. Women&#8217;s toilet room is not provided with a covered waste receptacle for sanitary napkins.McDonald&#8217;s #16047, Rt. 6 Bell Mountain Village, Dickson City, Feb. 24. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: No sign or poster posted at the hand-wash sink in the men&#8217;s rest room area to remind food employees to wash their hands. A sign was posted during this inspection. Mop not being hung to air dry. The mop was re-arranged to allow for air drying during this inspection.Starbucks Coffee #2955, 1152 Commerce Blvd., Suite 101, Dickson City, Feb. 24. Complaint inspection; in compliance. Violations: Food employees observed in front counter prep area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers. Violations; Observed wiping cloths in extremely unclean condition in area. Temperature measuring devices for ensuring proper temperatures in refrigerated/hot holding equipment, is not located to measure the warmest part of the equipment. The food facility does not have a hand-wash sink located in the food prep/ware-washing area. Men&#8217;s room had damage from previous night. I informed owner&#8217;s father that work needed to be done by licensed contractor, there was water on floor. Extensive amount of cardboard being stored in basement, was informed needed for future event. I informed employee it was a fire hazard. Kitchen closed currently, was informed reopening, no date given. Plumbing system not maintained or in good repair, observed leaking. Sink was damaged in men&#8217;s room, water on floor, informed owners father, permit required and a licensed contractor needed to address that issue. The food facility does not maintain Food Employee Certification records as required. Certification for ServSafe had expired, brought to attention of bartender and owner&#8217;s father. Kitchen is closed currently but was informed changes were to be made for food in the near future. Expired certificate is still hanging on wall brought to attention of owner&#8217;s father and bar employee. Paper towel dispenser empty at the hand-wash sink. Soap was not available at the hand-wash sink. No sign or poster posted at the hand-wash sink to remind food employees to wash their hands.
