Crews respond to vehicle on Pittsburgh supermarket roof

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Emergency crews have responded after a vehicle crashed onto the roof of a Giant Eagle supermarket in Pittsburgh. The incident happened in the city's Greenfield neighborhood. It was not immediately clear how the accident occurred late Tuesday morning. The store sits on a lot below some other city streets. WPXI-TV was showing that the driver somehow went off a street, through a chain-link fence and onto the roof of the store below. Crews at the scene say the store has been evacuated as a precaution, and that the vehicle was leaking gasoline. But spokespersons for the Pittsburgh police and the supermarket chain could not immediately be reached for comment. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
