Butler Township supervisors to discuss municipal building plans

DUPONT &#8212; The borough council approved police and building expenses during Tuesday night&#8217;s council meeting.The borough will spend roughly $2,000 on a new copier and repairs to a police car.Although the car in question is not anticipated to remain in use for much longer, officials deemed it critical for the continued increase in traffic patrols.The borough will also spend more than $8,000, making the first payment on its most recently acquired police car.The council also approved plans to erect a permanent salt storage shed at a cost of $15,000. Roughly $5,000 of that cost, however, will be offset from payments received by FedEx for road maintenance related work.Dupont officials also discussed plans to add a $40 fee to delinquent garbage bills to cover magistrate costs. Late fees will also likely be added, but the council members chose to table the matter so that exact figures could be established.Council President Stanley Knick Jr. explained that the money is being received in return for the borough&#8217;s allowing Fedex to use municipal property to establish a turning lane into its distribution center located off of Route 315.In other matters, residents were reminded that on March 19 a Dupont History Day will be held at the Dupont Municipal Building while the Dupont Lions&#8217; Club, along with the newly formed Dupont Youth Baseball Organization will be conducting a volunteer park cleanup at the Dupont Municipal Park.Dupont will hold its next regular council meeting at 7 p.m. on April 12.<div class="metaInfo"><bylineMeta>By B.
