Clergy abuse report prompts a resignation, banner removal

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania man has been charged with criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse in the death of a woman whose body was found stuffed into a recycling bin last month. The Lehigh County district attorney's office said Tuesday that 62-year-old Walter Bratvold, of Allentown, had been in a relationship with 59-year-old Rose Sieniawski, whose body was found Feb. 14 in a recycling bin at an apartment complex two blocks from her home. She died of multiple gunshot wounds. Bratvold was injured in a gunfight with Allentown police two days after Sieniawski's body was found. He was previously charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault. Court documents indicate that Bratvold will be represented by the Lehigh County public defender's office, which couldn't be reached for comment Tuesday. ___ This story has been corrected to show the victim's last name is Sieniawski, not Sieniwsky.
