<p><strong>Misericordia University</strong></p><p>Cynthia Glawe Mailloux, Ph.D., R.N., C.N.E., professor and chair of the Department of Nursing at Misericordia University, recently made the poster presentation, &#8220;Global Health in Tanzania: An Interprofessional Education Experience,&#8217;&#8217; at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing&#8217;s (AACN) 2016 Master&#8217;s Education Conference in Houston, Texas.</p><p>Dr. Mailloux&#8217;s poster session provided information on the interprofessional global service-learning course in Africa that featured students and faculty from Misericordia and Wilkes universities collaborating with health care professionals at Nyakahanga Hospital in Karagwe. The two-week program afforded participants an opportunity to immerse themselves in the foreign health care system, experience nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and witness how the United Nations is fulfilling its Millennium Development Goals and Beyond 2015 program that has eight goals, such as halving extreme poverty to stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS.</p><p>Dr. Mailloux, a 2015 AACN Wharton Fellow, earned her doctorate in nursing with a concentration in education from Penn State University; her master&#8217;s degree in nursing from Misericordia University and her bachelor&#8217;s degree in nursing from Wilkes University. She is a member of the Pennsylvania State Nurse Association, AACN and National League for Nursing. She is also the secretary of the Pennsylvania Higher Education in Nursing Association.</p><style>
