Man acquitted of raping woman at Pitt-Johnstown dormitory

SLATINGTON, Pa. (AP) — State police and a coroner are investigating the death of a man after police responded to a hazardous materials incident in eastern Pennsylvania. Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim says the dead man's name will be released following an autopsy Friday. Troopers from the Bethlehem barracks did not immediately release details on the call in Washington Township, near Slatington, on Thursday afternoon. Grim says only that the man was found dead by a relative, and that unspecified chemicals found close to his body prompted the hazmat response. Police evacuated part of the neighborhood as a result. A police spokesman did not immediately return a call Friday. No other injuries were reported. The incident occurred about 70 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
