Letter to the Editor: Why won’t senators allow audit of ‘evil’ Federal Reserve?

Time for tax increases, so they say, when all should pay taxes to keep the country and towns up to par.It was revealed in The New York Times that Watchtower will sell $1 billion worth of property in Brooklyn, opening up a large part for housing development! Yet according to the Al Jazeera America, the Catholic Church owns $161 billion in property, which indicates it may own one-fifth of New York City; no wonder the rentals are high. It also owns restaurants and hotels in Italy, tax-free.I say exempt only the church building, not the church-owned housing, condos and bingo halls that are tax-exempt and should be taxed. Time for the luxury of no taxes to be stopped. Start paying taxes.Bob WashickConyngham
