DURYEA Betterment Committee - The Duryea Borough, along with residents, has formed a betterment committee to benefit the borough and the citizens of Duryea. A meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the borough building, 315 Main St. All interested residents are urged to attend. Contact Carolyn Santee, borough manager, at 570-655-2829 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday-Friday, or there is a suggestion box located in the lobby.Recycling - Due to the recent suspension of the electronics recycling program in Luzerne County, Duryea borough has cancelled the electronics pickup which was originally scheduled for Wednesday.Vacancies - The Duryea borough is seeking candidates to fill two vacancies on the Civil Service Commission. Candidates should send a letter of interest to borough manager, Carolyn Santee, 315 Main St., Duryea, PA 18642. All letters must be received by Thursday, April 7, 2016.Yard Waste - Yard waste collection will resume for all Duryea residents at 7 a.m. from March 25 through Nov. 18. Use the street department newsletter for requirements.
