<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Police have charged a homeless man with public intoxication after he was found allegedly drinking on a bench in Kirby Park.</p><p>At 1:54 p.m. on Thursday, police were dispatched to the area of the park near West Market Street for a report of an intoxicated man with an open beer bottle on a bench. Police arrived to find Glenn MacDonald, 53, sitting on the bench overlooking the park.</p><p>Police allege that he had a 40 ounce beer at his feet, and that he displayed &#8220;classic signs&#8221; of intoxication.</p><p>Police said that MacDonald advised officers that he was homeless and that he &#8220;felt he found an ideal spot to drink.&#8221;</p><p>MacDonald was placed in custody and transported to police headquarters, where he was issued a citation for public drunkenness.</p><style>
