SEATTLE (AP) — A man taken into custody for investigation of homicide following the discovery of body parts in a Seattle recycling bin has a lengthy criminal history, court records show. John Robert Charlton, 37, was convicted of a 2009 felony theft in Montana, negligent driving in Washington state in 1998 and a second-degree felony for aggravated robbery in Utah in 2006, according to the records. Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O'Toole announced the arrest of Charlton on Monday evening. Police believe the remains — found in the recycling bin of a homeowner — are those of Ingrid Lyne, a 40-year-old mother of three who was reported missing on Saturday. She worked as a nurse in Seattle. The coroner's office was working to confirm the remains were those of Lyne. Lyne had planned to go on a date to a Mariners baseball game Friday night with someone she met online, friends said. Seattle police found her SUV in downtown Seattle after taking Charlton into custody. Police believe he acted alone. Police arrested Charlton in Snohomish County, north of Seattle. It wasn't immediately clear if he has an attorney. An initial court appearance was expected later Tuesday. The homeowner called police Saturday after discovering the body parts inside plastic bags. The bin had been emptied of recyclables Friday.
