If you had or currently have a uterus, you should be aware that the three Republican presidential candidates, and arguably most Republican governors and politicians, would either have you punished for having an abortion, your physician punished for providing you with that safe abortion alas punishing you again, or you labeled a victim &#8211; implying you were weak-minded and forced into terminating a pregnancy.Speaking for myself and other women I know who have had an abortion, we were not murderers or weak-minded victims. We didn&#8217;t need to be saved from or punished for a thoughtful informed decision we made regarding our body, our mind, our health.We didn&#8217;t need to be forced into having an ultra-sound procedure, as is the case in Ohio under John Kasich, whose restrictive anti-choice, anti-female laws have resulted in the closure of several clinics in his state with women having to travel to Michigan to exercise their reproductive rights.We didn&#8217;t need Ted Cruz to spew his religious damnation against Planned Parenthood in order to defund the organization that helped provide us with the birth control and education we needed.And we certainly didn&#8217;t need Donald Trump to have us arrested and forced into giving birth. We didn&#8217;t need him to punish us or the compassionate health care providers who bravely assisted us.So if you desire final say on what happens to your reproductive parts, indeed all your parts for years to come, the party made up of predominately nasty old white men won&#8217;t support you. But they will appoint a Supreme Court justice who thinks like they do, and that is horrifying.Sue HaasDallas
